SMITH & NEPHEW Acticoat Burn (with Silcryst Nanocrystals) Antimicrobial Barrier Dressing is an effective barrier to bacterial penetration. The barrier function of the dressing may help reduce infection in partial and full-thickness wounds including decubitus ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, first- and second-degree burns, and donor sites. Acticoat dressings may be used over debrided and grafted partial thickness wounds. Acticoat consists of three layers: a rayon/polyester core that helps manage moisture levels and control silver release is sandwiched between two layers of silver-coated high-density polyethylene mesh that facilitate the passage of silver through the dressing. Nanocrystalline silver protects the wound site from bacterial contamination while the inner core helps maintain the moist environment optimal for wound healing. The nanocrystalline coating of pure silver delivers antimicrobial barrier activity within thirty minutes - faster than other forms of silver. The sustained release of silver also means fewer dressing changes, resulting in less exposure of the wound bed to the environment. Acticoat is versatile. The dressings can be cut to the desired shape and size to wrap around all body parts. Acticoat is cost-effective because it can be left on wounds for up to three days. Size 4" x 8". Sold by the each. To receive a box order twelve each.
