SYSTAGENIX Promogran* matrix wound dressing transforms into a soft, conformable, biodegradable gel in the presence of exudate, and thus allows contact with all areas of the wound. It maintains a physiologically moist microenvironment at the wound surface which is conducive to granulation tissue formation, epithelialization and rapid wound healing. Can be used for the treatment of venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers. Other uses include for abrasions, dehisced surgical wounds, donor sites, and other bleeding surface wounds. If a patient presents with a wound that has shown little change in the appearance of the wound bed or edges, and the size has remained the same, promogran* should be considered. Promogran* can also be used under compression and it can be molded or cut to fit the wound shape. Patients who used promogran* were clinically proven to be 8.5 Times more likely to heal.
